Nowy Targ with a large regional trade center!
A long-awaited large shopping mall is coming to Podhale! Commercialization of Galeria Podhalańska is underway, and its opening is scheduled for late 2027.
This unique shopping and entertainment mall in Podhale is being built in one of the most attractive retail locations in southern Poland – in the Równia Szaflarska area, at the "Zakopianka" roundabout, and directly next to the recently constructed interchange that will ultimately connect Kraków with Zakopane, and Nowy Targ with holiday resorts and ski resorts such as Bukowina Tatrzańska, Białka Tatrzańska, and, most importantly, the border crossing with Slovakia.
Galeria Podhalańska will become part of the largest retail complex in Podhale. Already operating in the immediate vicinity are Kaufland and Biedronka grocery supermarkets, a Castorama DIY store, a Decathlon sports market, a retail park featuring Action, TEDi, Media Expert, Pepco, Rossmann, Maxi Zoo, and McDonald's and KFC restaurants. A Meble Agata supermarket, spanning 17,000 square meters, will soon open near the planned shopping center, complemented by a retail park offering home furnishings and a Popeyes drive-thru restaurant.
All these retail properties are located within a mere 300 meters of each other. Together with the centrally located Galeria Podhalańska, they will create a unique destination and regional retail center with a total area of over 75,000 square meters!
Another significant advantage of Galeria Podhalańska is its proximity to the Termy Nowotarskie thermal baths, which are being built next to it, which will bring in a significant additional customer base. This will be a unique attraction for both residents and tourists from across the region. A total of 32 swimming pools will be built on 5 hectares, 25 of which will be indoors and 7 outdoors. High water slides, a children's area, a water amphitheater, a dozen saunas, a salt cave, and winter swimming areas. The facility will accommodate up to 4,000 people at a time, and the complex is expected to attract 1 million visitors annually! The entrances to Galeria Podhalańska and Termy Nowotarskie will be just 200 meters apart.
The mall's approximately 25,000 square meters of leasable space will consist of approximately 80 stores featuring Polish and international brands, a grocery supermarket, a multi-screen cinema, service areas, areas designed for families with children with a kids' play area, and a modern food court with panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains. Underground parking with approximately 800 spaces will be available for drivers, a crucial feature in this area, especially during winter, as it will significantly improve visitor comfort. Bus stops located 50 meters from the entrance to the shopping center will provide convenient access for customers from Nowy Targ and surrounding towns and villages.
This excellent location will guarantee a very high footfall for customers from Nowy Targ, Slovakia, and nearby Zakopane, solidifying Nowy Targ's position as the commercial capital of Podhale. Galeria Podhalańska will become a new destination for shopping, services, and entertainment for the region's residents and the millions of tourists who visit the area each year.
The building has already been constructed, and interior and exterior finishing work are currently underway. The opening is scheduled for December 2027.
The project's investor is Bryjak – a well-known company in the Podhale region operating primarily in the mining, construction, and real estate sectors, which has already completed adjacent retail facilities to Galeria Podhalańska, including a retail park with a Kaufland supermarket and a retail facility with a Biedronka supermarket.
The architectural design was provided by plus8.pl Architekci, a studio with years of experience in retail and commercial design. The firm has completed projects totaling over 300,000 m² of retail space across Poland, including Galeria Wiślanka in Żory, several retail parks for DL Invest (Mikołów, Knurów, Rybnik) and Vendo Parks (Oświęcim, Częstochowa), as well as Bryjak Park in Nowy Targ.
Mallson Polska is responsible for the commercial concept and leasing of its space.
